Head of School
Spring Break Just Around the Corner- For many of us at school, Spring Break comes upon us as nearly as a surprise. It is often difficult to comprehend that so much time has passed since Winter Break and we often look back with pride at how much has been accomplished and ‘worry’ at how much is yet to be done.
Emerging from the intensity and darkness of winter, Spring Break is a welcome break to catch up, recharge our batteries and get ready for the last 10 weeks of school.
We hope that our families and students will enjoy the short holiday ahead of you and come back with a renewed sense of energy and excitement.

The Developing World Scholarship is primarily reserved to for families from developing countries that are conducting research or academic studies at Hokkaido University under the support of th Ministry of Education.

University of British Columbia -- Student Body President, Adnan Sharif was excited to learn that he was accepted to be a bachelor of science major at the University of British Columbia. Along with that, he was awarded a Major Entrance Scholarship.
UBC ranks in the top 40 universities globally and in the top 20 for public universities so it is a significant indicator of Adnan’s years of academic hard work. Adnan hopes to pursue a bio-chemistry (pre-medicine) course of studies at the university and hopes to enter the Canadian Army’s Medical Officers Training Program.
Adnan’s ultimate goal is to be a medical doctor and is excited by the potential offered by the Canadian military because of its humanitarian efforts around the world and because he hopes to extend his leadership learning experiences which began here at HIS.
Adnan is still awaiting responses from Western University (Ont. Canada), Waterloo University (Ontario) and McGill University (Montreal).
