Elementary Assemblies - It was so exciting to see such a large turnout of parents, friends and families at the elementary assembly last week. The ES Assemblies are becoming a popular attraction and we would encourage community members to come out and join these events where you can see students perform and show what they are learning in school. Thanks to the elementary teachers and the MP3 emcees for putting on such a great event.

Big Book Buzz - This year’s Big Book Buzz was again a great success. Mrs. Riggins introduced some really exciting new books from the library, students requested book titles and genres by recording their wishes on paper “coins” that were then placed into the library’s Wishing Well.

Perhaps most important of all, students were able to showcase their own favorite book through posted written summaries along with an artifact that best seemed to represent their story. Students moved around the display tables to read book summaries and see each artifact.

As parents we can appreciate this successful means of encouraging reading!

Celebrating a Student Success - We congratulate Student Body President, Adnan Sharif, for his successful acceptance to his first choice university, the University of Toronto. Adnan wishes to pursue a medical career and is excited to be in his favorite Canadian city as well. A big Husky Cheer and hug to Adnan.
