Head of School
WASC Mid-Cycle Visit -- This Monday and Tuesday, HIS will be hosting Ms. Meagan Pavey (Guangzhou International School) and Ms. Jennie Munson (Concordia International School) who have come to HIS to lead our mid-cycle WASC Accreditation Visit. We are proud of the work that HIS has accomplished since our 2012 Full Study Visit. We look forward to hearing their report on Tuesday.
New Lost & Found Display - In response to a request from the PTA, HIS has replaced the Lost and Found shelf with coat rack where lost and found clothing items can be displayed on hangers. We hope that this makes it easier for you to find lost items of clothing.

Art Room News – Invitation to the Art Gallery of your child
MP1 through 3 students have explored art and created very nice work. Their beautiful art is uploaded to their own Art Gallery on ArtSonia (http://www.artsonia.com). Please do not forget to activate the digital portfolio of their individual Art Gallery.
It is easy to activate the gallery. Please go to artsonia.com/permission, and then go to your child’s screen typing in the screen name on the Permission Form. On the screen, you will see the column to type the security key. Please type the unique security key on the Permission Form, and set up the security Q&A. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question or concerns.
The online gallery is also a great way to share your child’s art work with family, relatives and friends.
PIANO & VIOLIN LESSONS
HIS has offered the chance for students to have violin and piano lessons with professional teachers after school hours for over 15 years!
We would like to keep this opportunity going and are asking students who are interested in taking either violin or piano lessons to please contact Ms Manjyoume (MP3 teacher) (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that your name can be placed on a waiting list.
Positions are limited and scarce (and currently unavailable) so we would like you to be aware that your name will be placed on a waiting list which is on a first come first served basis as well as seniority on the number of years you have attended HIS (this assumes that you have been waiting for an opening the longest)
If you would like information about the piano lessons including costs please contact Ms Manjyoume and for information about violin lessons, please contact Mrs Otsuka (email@example.com) but you must contact Ms Manjyoume so that your name can be placed on the list.
When a violin position is available, the school has violins that you may be able to use (depending on availability of the size)
Please note that both the violin and piano lessons are conducted in Japanese.
Thank you for your understanding.
