HUSKY EXPRESS October 26, 2015

 Administration Corner

  Head of School

Welcome Back from Break -- I would like to welcome everyone back from the week-long Fall Break. We trust that families and students were able to use the time to be together and to catch up on things needed. Hard to imagine that ¼ of the school year is nearly at an end.

EARCOS Leadership Conference -- Please note that Mr. Cooke and Mr. Ratzliff will be away this coming week attending the annual East Asia Regional Council of Schools. HIS has been active in the organization since the late 1960s.

The conference is an important opportunity for school administration to...

  • get a “read” on important educational trends,
  • meet with educational service providers,
  • receive professional development on areas HIS is working on,
  • and network for the benefit of the school and its programs

Sadly the conference is booked during our Fall Festival, however, I would like express my thanks to the PTA and all members of the community who are so heavily involved in making this event an unforgettable experience.

Parent Coffees
We look forward to seeing you there:
Wednesday Nov 4 (2:30 ~ 3:30 pm)

The volleyball season has now concluded. The high school girls had their final match of the regular Wednesday games with the teachers `all star` team. It was fantastic that we had so many players this year across 3 teams !

The soccer season also concluded with a game against the visitors from Shoshi Gakkuen … we lost but a great experience for everyone. They then played the teachers on the last Friday and it was another thrilling game which went to extra time and the `golden goal` with the teachers prevailing in a thriller !

A big thanks to all the teachers who participated in both or either of these games.

The attention now turns to basketball. schedules are posted around the school.
